Lab Technician Biomechanics

To strengthen our Biomechanics Team in Zurich-Kloten we are looking for a

Lab Technician Biomechanics

Your Responsibilities as Lab Technician Biomechanics

  • Prepare, conduct, and document mechanical tests according to internal procedures, SOPs, and international standards.
  • Analyze test results and perform basic statistical evaluations.
  • Prepare clear and accurate technical reports.
  • Support product verification and characterization activities within R&D projects.
  • Coordinate maintenance, calibration, and qualification of laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure laboratory infrastructure remains operational, reliable, and compliant.
  • Review, maintain, and continuously improve laboratory procedures and SOPs.
  • Support failure investigations using optical microscopy and, ideally, scanning electron microscopy (SEM).
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with quality and regulatory requirements in a regulated laboratory environment.

Your Profile

  • Degree as Dipl. Techniker/in HF/TS or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Medical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical testing.
  • Experience working within interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and Laboratory Practice (GLP).
  • Fluent and good English communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the medical device industry, materials science, or another regulated environment.
  • Experience with workshop machinery such as milling, drilling, and turning equipment.
  • Experience in optical failure analysis and material characterization.
  • Knowledge of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
