Attached to the Directorate of Security, Justice and Sport, the Fribourg Cantonal Police has the general mission of ensuring public safety, maintaining order and enforcing laws.
It serves the population and the authorities. This is reflected 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, by carrying out a large number of varied and demanding tasks: emergency interventions, offence reports, crime prevention, investigations, etc. The increasingly important role of the police in managing social problems requires tact and expertise from officers.
It is also responsible for ensuring road traffic safety. It provides security support to organisers of public events and assists cantonal and municipal authorities during serious incidents.
The Fribourg Cantonal Police is composed of two main bodies, the gendarmerie and the security police, and three divisions: command, logistics and IT, human resources and training.

- Research and exploit police data in order to synthesise the results
- Support, within the framework of criminal investigations, the various units of the cantonal police as well as the justice system in the field of criminal analysis and police intelligence exploitation
- Technically support investigators during operations, investigations and hearings in the field of criminal intelligence
- Develop methods and techniques in the field of data analysis
- Collaborate and maintain contacts with all internal and external partners
- Perform on-call duties
- Master’s degree in criminal analysis and traceology or university training deemed equivalent in the field of data management and analysis
- Good command of data management and formatting tools (Big data)
- Demonstrate autonomy, systematic approach, perseverance and team spirit
- Driving licence, category B
- Fluency in French or German with good knowledge of the partner language
