# IT System Engineer / R&D Infrastructure Engineer # (m/f/d) Freelance/temporary employment for a project Schlieren Start date: asap Reference number: 892702/1 ### Responsibilities ### * Administer and support Linux infrastructure as a major part of the environment, alongside Windows and macOS systems * Support NVIDIA GPU/HPC compute infrastructure, including day-to-day operation and troubleshooting of Slurm-based clusters * Support enterprise storage environments, including SAN and NAS systems, storage provisioning, capacity management and connectivity * Maintain and troubleshoot infrastructure monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager and Karma * Support networking and remote-access infrastructure, including switching, routing, DNS, VPN and general network troubleshooting * Support endpoint lifecycle management across Linux, Windows and macOS * Work with Microsoft Entra ID and Intune for identity, access and endpoint management * Use Git/GitLab for infrastructure configuration, documentation, operational procedures and change tracking * Maintain and improve infrastructure automation and configuration management using SaltStack or comparable tools such as Ansible * Troubleshoot incidents across multiple infrastructure layers and coordinate with internal teams, developers, vendors and other technical stakeholders when required ### Profile ### * Strong Linux systems administration and R&D user support - Linux/Ubuntu is a major part of the environment, alongside Windows and macOS, supporting developers, researchers and other technical users * User lifecycle, identity and endpoint management - hands-on onboarding and offboarding, account/access management, endpoint provisioning and lifecycle activities. Experience with Entra ID, Intune or similar platforms is valuable * GPU/HPC, monitoring and automation - experience with HPC, GPU compute or similar environments is highly desirable * Broad infrastructure experience - comfortable troubleshooting across Proxmox/virtualization, networking, SAN/NAS storage, backup systems and physical server/datacenter infrastructur * Fuent in English ### Benefits ### * Interesting tasks in a multinational environment
