Participate in the power supply in Switzerland

In this exciting position, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Modelling of the electrical grid of Switzerland
  • Carrying out power system simulations and grid calculations (state estimation, load flow, short-circuit, contingency analysis, etc.)
  • Creating Post Processing Tools for Wide Area Monitoring (WAM) systems
  • Analyzing the conformity of the Swiss Individual Network Models (IGM) with international standards (CGMES, CIM, etc.)
  • Assessing the performance of network analysis functions running in Swissgrid's Energy Management System (EMS)
  •  Working in collaboration with other departments in Swissgrid

This is how you make a difference

  • For this internship, we are looking for a team player with a reliable, structured and quality-conscious way of working. You must also have the following:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, ideally with a focus on power systems, or an equivalent qualification. 
  • Good knowledge of network analysis functions such as load flow, state estimation, and contingency analysis.
  • Experience in the use of offline electrical simulation tools (e.g., PSS/E, ODMS, Simulink, etc.) and in script programming (e.g., Python and C++) 
  • Fluent in English (French and German are an advantage)
