Position Summary
As an "Innovation Insight Manager", you will lead the consumer learning plan at Nespresso HQ for innovation projects across our B2C and B2B product lines, including coffees, machines, accessories, and more. Your role will ensure that impactful innovations are effectively brought to consumers worldwide, resulting in highly desirable, differentiated, and viable propositions.
A Day in the Life of an Innovation Insight Manager
- Serve as a strategic partner for the innovation product marketing and R&D teams, ensuring consumer insights are integrated into their innovation journey and heard by cross-functional teams
- Collaborate closely with innovation business stakeholders to identify and prioritize key business questions and requests for insights to facilitate decision-making for HQ projects
- Translate business questions into a comprehensive research plan, partnering with external agencies to develop research projects that address specific business needs
- Challenge preconceived notions from the innovation product marketing and R&D teams regarding consumer wants and needs by leveraging external and internal data, as well as insights from past research
- Monitor fieldwork and data analysis processes alongside marketing and R&D teams, maintaining high quality and research standards throughout
- Interpret research results to provide objective, clear, and actionable findings that enable teams and management to make informed, fact-based decisions
- Communicate results to partners through simple, memorable, and compelling narratives that influence decisions at all levels, including the management board
- Lead the annual Nespresso HQ innovation program in collaboration with selected external partners, focusing on identifying consumer-centric growth opportunities, conducting ideation workshops, and systematically testing high-potential ideas through iterative learning loops
What will make you successful
- University degree in Marketing or equivalent
- Established experience in market research at Nestlé, equivalent FMCG or in major research agencies
- Ad hoc research experience in both qualitative and quantitative in the context of innovation projects, with a strong ability to identify needs and deploy complex research techniques
- Experience in designing research plans and leading projects, including budget management, supplier coordination, and scheduling
- Knowledge and relevant experience in agile project management, creativity and design thinking
- Ability to influence without authority and strong consulting skills
- Strong analytical skills and highly collaborative approach
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy, innovative environment
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages is a strong plus
