The Au Cœur des Grottes Foundation is a Geneva-based institution specialising in the accommodation and support of women victims of violence or human trafficking, alone or accompanied by their children.

Its multidisciplinary team provides educational, social and clinical support based on a trauma-sensitive approach, taking into account the effects of violence on physical, psychological and social health. Its action aims to promote the safety, stabilisation, reconstruction and empowerment of the women and children welcomed.

Every day, nearly 40 women and between 25 and 30 children are supported within the home.

Head of Support Department (100%)



A key member of the management team, you will be responsible for the Support Department and actively contribute to the implementation of the Foundation’s vision and strategy. Leading a team of around twenty professionals (social workers, educators and nurses), you will establish a unifying and clear working framework, promoting the quality of support and services, team cohesion and interprofessional collaboration. In close collaboration with the management, you will ensure the smooth running of the department, optimise its organisation and continuously improve practices. As a member of the Management Committee, you will contribute to the deployment of the institutional strategy in close coordination with other members.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Manage the department’s activities and ensure the achievement of operational and strategic objectives.
  • Supervise, develop and unite a multidisciplinary team of about twenty staff members.
  • Maintain a regular presence with teams and beneficiaries to support coordination, quality of services and management of complex situations.
  • Guarantee a coherent operating framework and rigorous human resource management.
  • Ensure the quality, relevance and development of socio-educational services provided to women and children, respecting good professional practices.
  • Support teams through change, developing an institutional culture based on cooperation.
  • Ensure effective coordination with other Foundation departments and strengthen interfaces and collaboration with them.
  • Contribute to the analysis of professional practices and continuous improvement of processes and services.
  • Participate in the development of institutional partnerships and represent the Foundation, delegated by management, to external stakeholders.

Your profile:

You hold a HES or university degree in health or social fields, or have equivalent training. Ideally, you have additional training in management or team leadership (CAS or equivalent) and have at least five years’ proven experience managing a support structure, project management and leading multidisciplinary teams. You possess excellent knowledge of the Geneva social-health network and its challenges, as well as a deep understanding of issues related to violence and support for affected persons.

  • Strong sensitivity to interdisciplinary work and collective intelligence.
  • Ability to lead change and support teams in an evolving organisational context.
