To build up a new division in the Grids department, we are looking for aHead of Grid DevelopmentYour missionIn this role, you are responsible for the management and development of the Valais high-voltage (HV) grid. You take over the asset management of this grid, the responsibility for the processing of grid connections in the high-voltage sector, and for contractual aspects. Embedded in the Grids department, you ensure the leadership and further development of the division. In doing so, you consistently align the division with grid development and the project portfolio. You plan and develop the necessary resources, specifically promote the competence development of employees – particularly in project management –, actively participate in the Grids Directorate, and support the Head of Department. You ensure close coordination with various stakeholders such as Swissgrid, Valgrid, distribution system operators, producers, industrial partners, customers, and authorities. You steer the further development of the high-voltage grid with a focus on security of supply as well as on the provision of the necessary capacities in the long term. Your further tasks include leading studies in the field of grid development, monitoring connection requests, and managing connection and grid usage contracts. Furthermore, you are responsible for managing contracts in the context of simple partnerships for key projects.Your profile- Engineering degree (ETH/FH) in electrical engineering or an equivalent recognized education, ideally with an EMBA- At least 5–7 years of experience in the development and operation of power grids- Sound leadership experience- Experience in project management is an advantage- Experience in leading multidisciplinary high-voltage projects- Very good communication and negotiation skills- Distinct leadership competence and organizational and planning strength (proactivity, forward-looking thinking)- Resilience, reliability, and flexibility- Native language French or German with very good knowledge of the other language (level C1) as well as very good English skills (level C1)Why work with us?A multidisciplinary, open, and dynamic team looks forward to working with you.
