About the job:
We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Head of Finance, DACH to take ownership of all finance and tax functions across our 10 DACH entities, which includes the group’s holding company. As a key partner to senior leadership, you’ll drive financial excellence, operational compliance, and cross-regional alignment while shaping the region’s long-term financial strategy. This role demands attention to details, leadership skills, a strategic mind, a knack for technology, and a sharp eye for future trends. This hands-on role plays a vital part in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our organization.
You lead a team of three direct reports (1 Specialist, 2 Senior Specialists) and work with peers across regions to build an inclusive, high-performing finance function that integrates financial systems, guides senior management initiatives and supports strategic decision-making at every level. The main topics of the role are:
- Lead financial operations across the region, including governance, tax compliance, treasury, and reporting.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Partners and business stakeholders, translating data and KPIs into actionable insights.
- Own core finance processes—from closings and intercompany settlements to budgeting and cash flow, including consolidation.
- Ensure tax compliance, audit readiness, and financial risk controls across jurisdictions.
- Shape and drive transformation and process improvement projects aligned to Group strategy.
- Collaborate across functions and regions to harmonize financial systems and automate workflows.
- Coach and develop your team while fostering collaboration and accountability across geographies.
About you:
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field, combined with a recognized professional finance qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, including at least 2 years exposure to consulting and fast-paced and dynamic environments.
- At least 2 years of experience in leading budgeting and consolidation, a plus is an initial exposure to currency management.
- Proven experience in senior finance roles within multinational settings and collaborating with geographically dispersed colleagues.
- Able to connect financial data to business outcomes, solve problems, and shape strategic direction.
- Demonstrated capability in leading dispersed teams and fostering high-performance environments.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software, preferably NetSuite, and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and excellent in conferring in writing and verbally both in German and English.
