* Lead of 'Climate and Agriculture' Research Group
* Research with regard to climate mitigation and adaptation measures in agriculture, with focus on the role of soils as greenhouse gas source and/or sink
* Coordination of a research call within the Agroscope work programme
* Knowledge transfer (active involvement in Agroscope committees, Information events with relevant federal authorities, representing Agroscope at national and international events, mentoring of early career researchers)

* PhD in climate sciences, ecology, environmental systems sciences, agricultural sciences or similar disciplines
* Enthusiasm for strategic research planning and the development of research projects. Ability for systemic thinking across agricultural research areas
* \>5 years of professional and managerial experience in the specialist field; exceptional leadership and communication skills; team player; creative, goal- and results-driven personality
* Proof of the ability to acquire external (competitive) funding
* Knowledge of two official Swiss languages and English
****In a nutshell****
The Agroecology and Environment Research Division studies the effects of agriculture on different environmental dimensions: climate, air, soil, biodiversity, nutrient cycles and water. Solutions for sustainable agriculture are developed based on agroecological principles and using real data. Fostering interdisciplinary connections is essential for identifying synergies and conflicts of interest.

Agroscope is the Swiss federal centre of excellence for research in the agriculture and food sector. Its researchers work at a number of sites in Switzerland. Headquartered in Bern-Liebefeld (as of 2026: Posieux), Agroscope is attached to the Swiss Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research EAER.
****Additional information****
The 'Climate and Agriculture' research group explores options for reducing agricultural greenhouse-gas emissions from soils and fertilisers and through carbon sinks. The group investigates the opportunities and risks posed by climate change for plant production and evaluates options for adaptation. It is also responsible for the Swiss Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Inventory.
