Description
In this senior position, you will oversee all legal and compliance functions, managing complex trust structures and cross-border operations. You will work closely with the CEO and key stakeholders to ensure governance excellence, legal integrity, and alignment with the family’s strategic objectives.
Your responsibilities:
- Legal Strategy & Governance: Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the family office’s long-term objectives. Advise on the creation and management of multi-jurisdictional trust structures and governance frameworks.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Lead compliance programs covering AML, anti-bribery, and regulatory requirements. Ensure adherence to local and international laws, including data protection and privacy regulations.
- Labour and Employment Law: Provide guidance on employment matters including contracts, compensation, and dispute resolution.
- External Advisors Management: Manage relationships with external legal, tax, and accounting advisors. Negotiate service terms and ensure delivery of high-quality support.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster a diplomatic, service-oriented approach to collaboration with family members, trustees, and external partners.
- Cross-Border Legal Management: Advise on international legal and regulatory matters, including investments, acquisitions, and asset structuring across multiple jurisdictions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Oversee preparation and review of key legal documents and ensure transparent documentation processes.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Law, preferably from an Anglo-Saxon jurisdiction (UK, US, Australia, etc.); admission to the bar in at least one jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 10 years in legal roles, ideally within family offices, private wealth management, or HNW sectors.
- Deep understanding of trust law, international regulatory compliance, and wealth management structures.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, diplomatic communication style, and ability to manage complex stakeholder dynamics.
- Ethical, discreet, and service-oriented with a long-term relationship mindset.
The ideal candidate will be able to commute to Syntes’ office in Vaduz every day of the week.
