Description
A globally active, medium-sized transport company headquartered in Basel is seeking a dedicated Group Controller (m/f/d). With over 80 international locations and a strong partner network, the company coordinates transport by road, rail, air, and sea, and provides comprehensive services in customs clearance, logistics, and industry-specific solutions.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual group closings, consolidations, and reporting processes in close collaboration with regional CFOs
- Prepare group management accounts and financial statements in compliance with internal policies and Swiss GAAP FER standards, including liaison with external auditors
- Develop, maintain, and update the group’s accounting policies, procedures, and chart of accounts, incorporating best practices and managing process changes
- Support the onboarding of newly acquired companies and ensure alignment with group reporting and accounting standards
- Contribute to financial planning and analysis through the preparation of consolidated budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc analysis
- Support group-level tax and compliance activities, particularly regarding transfer pricing policies
- Monitor and report on group liquidity and net working capital
Profile
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; accounting certification such as Swiss CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred
- Strong experience with Swiss GAAP FER and/or IFRS
- Practical experience in international controlling
- Familiarity with consolidation and planning tools; experience with Jedox and Diamant is an advantage
- Fluency in English and German and/or French
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an auditor or in a comparable role
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High initiative, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative team mindset
