Group AI Transformation Lead 100%
Overview
What we do ultimately impacts people's lives: Our solutions enable the safe manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and vaccines worldwide. Now, we are opening the next chapter by making AI an everyday tool - for our customers as well as our 1,700 foundations are in place: Our AI policy has been approved, and initial applications are already up and running. Now, we are looking for you: someone who can identify the right opportunities, bring people along on the journey, and ensure that ideas translate into measurable value. You will report directly to our Group CFO, build a small interdisciplinary team, and have significant freedom to shape this transformation - guided by the principle: "Centralize the foundation. Federate the value creation." Your workplace will be our headquarters in Allschwil, in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, Switzerland.
Responsibilities
- You develop the Group-wide AI roadmap and manage a prioritized portfolio of initiatives based on business value, customer value, feasibility, and risk.
- Together with the business functions, you identify where AI can make the greatest difference in processes, products, and services.
- You lead selected flagship projects from initial idea and business case through to production deployment - and measure their success.
- You scale what works and consistently discontinue initiatives that fail to deliver added value.
- In collaboration with ICT, you drive the broad and secure adoption of Group-approved AI tools and bring AI agents and automated workflows to the areas where they can deliver meaningful impact.
- You build a network of AI Champions and Power Users and embed AI into SKAN's existing Operating Model.
- You bring Business, ICT, Security, Quality, Legal, HR, and Finance together and ensure transparency around usage, value, costs, and risks - providing the basis for informed Executive Management decisions.
Hardskills
- A completed degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience in digital or business transformation, with a proven track record of leading initiatives from strategy through production deployment and scaling.
- A solid understanding of Generative AI, Large Language Models, and AI agents - as well as what it takes to ensure AI operates securely and at scale within an organization: integration, data, access permissions, and security.
- You evaluate AI initiatives based on business value, feasibility, and risk, and manage them through business cases and measurable outcomes.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing stakeholders up to Executive Management level.
- Experience in industry, engineering, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences, or in regulated environments, is a plus.
- Excellent English skills; German language skills are an advantage.
Softskills
- You inspire confidence through your personality - whether engaging with Executive Management, engineers, or specialists.
- You think strategically and are equally willing to roll up your sleeves and get things done.
- You distill complexity into what really matters and provide clear recommendations.
- You bring people together across functional boundaries, even without direct line management responsibility.
- You challenge the status quo with confidence and work collaboratively without getting caught up in consensus for its own sake.
- You are curious and a fast learner - while remaining focused on facts and measurable value rather than being driven by hype.
We offer you
- A Group-wide mission to shape and drive AI transformation, with a direct reporting line to the Group CFO
- The opportunity to make AI impactful in an area that contributes to the safe manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and vaccines
- An open and collaborative corporate culture
- Freedom to develop and implement your ideas
- Access to sports and recreational activities
- Opportunities for professional development, particularly through our SKAN Academy
- Comprehensive, job-focused onboarding
