CONTEXT: Richemont is a global leader in the luxury industry, renowned for its commitment to craftmanship, creativity, and sustainability. As we continue to expand our influence and our business, we’re establishing a dedicated Government Affairs function to Europe to proactively engage with policymakers, regulators, industry bodies, and key stakeholders on issues impacting our business and the entire industry. The European Government Affairs Senior Manager will shape a forward-looking strategy to deliver the right regulatory and reputation environment for Richemont and its Maisons to thrive responsibly, while building good will amongst relevant stakeholder audiences, associations and partners.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
Policy Engagement: develop and execute a European government affairs strategy, aligned with our global vision and business priorities; monitor and analyse EU and national-level (Member States) policy developments that may impact the luxury industry, including issues related to sustainability, trade, digital policy, consumer protection, labour/employment laws, and taxation; develop company’s messaging for EU policy audiences and apply it consistently across EU Member States.
Advocacy & Stakeholder Engagement: establish and maintain relationship with European institutions (European Commission, European Parliament, Council of the EU) national governments, and regulatory bodies across key EU markets; represent the company in key industry associations and coalitions and trade groups; lead engagement with key stakeholders, including NGOs, academia and opinion leaders to advocate for public policies relevant to the luxury sector.
Internal Collaboration & Strategic Advisory: work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams, such as legal, sustainability, operations, supply chain, responsible sourcing, and corporate communications/corporate affairs) to align government affairs initiatives; advise on legislative and policy risks, ensuring proactive management of emerging policy issues; and provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on political and regulatory trends.
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCESS WITH US?
10+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy or international relations, preferably within the luxury industry, consumer goods, or retail sectors.
Extensive knowledge of EU policymaking process and experience engaging with European institutions.
Strong network of policymakers, regulators, NGOs and industry stakeholders across Europe.
Proven ability to develop and execute successful advocacy campaigns across Europe, including at Member States level.
Highly skilled in communication and negotiation, with proven ability to influence at senior level.
Fluent in English and French (German and/or Italian are a plus).
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and build a new function within the organization.
Frequent travel required
Extensive network and knowledge of existing network of consultancies across Europe.
