It takes care of acute situations, thanks in particular to the emergency department of the Hôpital des Trois-Chêne, specific problems related to age, medical rehabilitation and medicine. Located in the heart of a park on the Belle-Idée estate, the Hôpital des Trois-Chêne welcomes people whose state of health requires hospitalization for care or treatment. The hospital has a state-of-the-art radiology unit, intermediate care, as well as an emergency service capable of welcoming patients aged 75 and over, excluding vital emergencies.Nurses for the Integrated Geriatric Unit of the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics - 80% to 100%As a nurse within the Integrated Geriatric Unit (UGIMP, geriatric unit), you ensure, autonomously and/or under medical supervision, the comprehensive and personalized care of patients aged 75 and over requiring acute care and rehabilitation. The unit specializes in the treatment of comorbidities combined with one or more geriatric syndromes. You evolve in an interprofessional team and coordinate the care plans provided to the patient. You ensure the continuity of care and maintain a psychotherapeutic framework developed as a team. You also exercise a supervisory and teaching function for students and new employees, and you contribute to the development of the quality of care and lead professional reflection based on the analysis of care practices.You hold a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or an equivalent nursing diploma recognized by the Swiss Red Cross. A complementary certification in geriatric care or gerontology is a real asset. You have a minimum of two years of experience in acute care in a hospital sector, ideally with an elderly population.Furthermore, you have solid skills in the management of complex nursing care for unstable patients. You have the knowledge required to ensure the care of patients with geriatric syndromes. You are also comfortable with the behavioral approach to anxious and depressed subjects, possibly with personality disorders or early cognitive disorders. You are also able to defuse situations at risk of violence and to react appropriately in case of patient aggression. You possess great rigor as well as a keen sense of organization and priority management, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and have a marked interest in monitoring elderly patients. During your previous experiences, you have demonstrated an ability to actively listen to caregivers and patients. Thanks to your team spirit and your communication skills, you work in an interprofessional manner to unite all partners around a common vision to develop care projects with a view to optimal care for patients and their loved ones. You appreciate versatility and teamwork. You know how to demonstrate responsiveness and are endowed with an excellent capacity for analysis of clinical situations.
