Job Description
Within the DGE-FOREST Division, you will be required to carry out forestry operations as part of the protection and conservation of cantonal forests located in the municipalities under the jurisdiction of the 2nd district forest inspection.
Additionally, you will also perform work related to the creation and maintenance of young stands, as well as the development and equipment of forest infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Carry out forestry work in these various forest areas according to the orders of the district forest rangers.
- Execute timber harvesting work according to marking protocols and site organisation.
- Perform forest maintenance work to enable the preservation and development of a multifunctional forest, according to the silvicultural orders received and the primary function assigned by the ranger.
- Participate in the maintenance of biotopes both inside and outside the forest and other ecosystems such as edges, according to the biodiversity objectives provided.
- Sort, prepare and package firewood.
- Participate in public communication and information, if necessary.
- Secure and mark the worksite.
- Take care of your equipment and keep it in good working order.
- Participate in the maintenance of tools, machines and vehicles assigned to the operations team.
- Respect health and safety at work for yourself, team members and third parties.

Qualifications
Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC) as forester-lumberjack
Professional experience in carrying out work within a public or private company
Heightened awareness of workplace safety issues and ability to integrate into a small team
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Listening and communication skills
Interest in apprentice training
Sense of responsibility and public service ethics
