What we will achieve together
Attached to the Industrial Projects and Digital Solutions Directorate (PID), the laboratories have the mission to continuously guarantee the quality control of products from the various activities of SIG, notably drinking water, wastewater and waste recovery. They also participate in the optimisation of online measurement processes and data processing, by providing support to operators, conducting technical feasibility studies and contributing to specific improvement and innovation projects.
As a laboratory technician, you contribute to the control and continuous improvement of processes related to water quality monitoring as well as the quality of services provided. In this capacity, you ensure the maintenance, optimisation and technical development of analytical applications.

Within the scope of their missions, the laboratories commit to ensuring high-quality monitoring while supporting the operator in the continuous improvement of their measurement and monitoring processes. In this perspective, research, optimisation and development of analytical techniques in chemistry and microbiology need to be regularly conducted to ensure the reliability of our control systems.
In your role, you will be responsible for:
- Providing support for field sampling operations and internal laboratory analyses;
- Actively participating in the development, optimisation and validation of analytical methods related to current challenges;
- Conducting a feasibility study on recent analytical techniques and their implementation potential;
- Providing support for the operational maintenance of the analytical equipment.
Your personality and skills
You demonstrate a strong critical mind, initiative and solid interpersonal and communication skills.
You have excellent writing skills and a good command of documentary processes.
Organised and rigorous, you appreciate collaborative work and contribute effectively to team dynamics.
You are proficient with the usual IT tools necessary for the role.
This position requires a driving licence.
Your background:
Bachelor HES level / certified laboratory technician or equivalent in the analytical fields of chemistry and/or microbiology, food or environmental analysis.
The salary will be calculated based on an annual reference salary spread over thirteen payments, depending on your qualification:
• Bachelor: CHF 75,000 gross (100% basis) spread over thirteen payments.
• Master: CHF 78,000 gross (100% basis) spread over thirteen payments.
