It offers master's and programs and conducts cutting-edge research on the major challenges of theABOUT THE CENTER:The Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights (ADH) in Geneva is a joint center of the University of Geneva and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID).The ADH's mission is to promote better protection of human rights and respect for humanitarian law in situations of armed conflict, violence, and crises, as well as to contribute to the prevention of serious violations of the law and to the promotion of justice and accountability.To this end, the ADH develops continuing education activities, conducts research projects and policy engagement work, and organizes conferences, specialized meetings, and dialogue with academic, institutional, and partners. Its activities contribute to the influence of the institutions at the federal and levels.The ADH's activities are structured in particular around humanitarian law, human rights, criminal law, transitional justice, as well as contemporary issues related to the prevention and repression of serious violations of the law.ROLE:Under the authority of the Academy's co-presidents, the Executive Director ensures, within the framework defined by the conventions between the institutions and the regulations, the direction and of the Academy.This position requires a management profile in an academic context, focused on steering complex academic and scientific activities. It involves the supervision of teaching, in close with the MAS program director and the manager of this sector, as well as the management and supervision of projects.This position is not intended for those wishing to exercise a teaching or research role: the incumbent assumes no academic teaching duties nor direct research function.The incumbent is associated with with the co-presidents and the Academy Board, within the framework of the between the UNIGE and the IHEID, and ensures its implementation by directing all of the Academy's activities.
