What we will achieve together

As a Drinking Water Operations Engineer, you participate in the distribution of impeccable quality drinking water for the customers of the canton of Geneva, while contributing to the modernisation of infrastructures and anticipating future needs.

Attached to the Thermal, Gas and Water Directorate, the SINERGI unit provides operational, technical and administrative support to the Drinking Water Gas activity, while coordinating its digital transformation. It also contributes to the operation of the drinking water network, asset management and financial management of the activity.

Your energy in the service of a sustainable Geneva

Propose and ensure the monitoring of the adequacy between the hydraulic system and the drinking water needs of the canton, in coordination with the relevant teams;
Participate in defining operating instructions in collaboration with shift supervisors;
Collaborate on analyses and optimisation studies of drinking water facilities and networks;
Conduct hydraulic studies and contribute to large-scale engineering projects;
Contribute to processing connection and network disconnection requests as well as to cross-functional projects related to the evolution of the drinking water system;
Participate in the overall monitoring of the system and in planning, resource optimisation and sanitary quality initiatives.

Autonomous and communicative, you adapt your interactions to your interlocutors and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of processes. Your writing skills enable you to produce reliable and high-quality deliverables.

You have strong skills in drinking water network hydraulics, particularly in steady-state and transient sizing. You also possess good knowledge of operating systems (water treatment, pumping facilities, hydraulic equipment) as well as operational data analysis. An awareness of sustainable water resource management issues is expected.

Knowledge of German and English is an asset.

Your academic background

EPFL or HES engineering degree in mechanical engineering (hydraulics option), environmental sciences or equivalent training;
1 to 3 years of experience in hydraulics;
Knowledge of the Geneva territory and its specificities.

Specific points

This position operates within a team support service. A weekly rota is organised to provide support to the control centre, with associated compensation.
