The position is attached to the Department of Clinical Neurosciences. This department provides care to patients of all ages, children and adults, suffering from neurosurgical, neurological, ophthalmological and otorhinolaryngological conditions. Care is adapted to the needs and difficulties of the patient, from the most acute sectors (intermediate care units) to rehabilitation sectors (neurorehabilitation).

The department's objective is to guide patients towards regaining their autonomy through education, support and outpatient follow-up. It ensures both the operation of patients and their support, to promote an early return home. In the same spirit, outpatient care is also prioritised and surgical activity optimised, to facilitate access to care within a reasonable timeframe.

The ophthalmology department of the HUG has, since its creation in 1878, been the leading ophthalmology centre in the canton of Geneva in terms of diagnosis, treatment of eye diseases and research. It relies on the most modern diagnostic methods, the most innovative laser techniques and minimally invasive surgical methods. Its core values are those of a university service.
