The Psychological Service for Children and Adolescents of Biel / Bernese Jura is looking for a school psychologist / educational advisor from 1st September 2026. The position is currently limited until 28th February 2028, with an option for a permanent role.
Your tasks
Within your consultation at the Psychological Service for Children and Adolescents, you conduct psychological assessments of children and adolescents taking into account their educational, pedagogical and social context. You carry out interviews and psychotherapeutic follow-ups with children, adolescents and their families. In your advisory role, you support parents, professionals, authorities or institutions involved in education or training. In this respect, you collaborate closely with the school, teachers, special education teachers and the medical-psychological and social network. You write reports for school authorities, as well as expert opinions for judicial authorities in the field of child protection.
Your profile
You hold an academic or equivalent qualification in psychology (Master's level) with experience in child clinical psychology and, ideally, psychotherapeutic training. You have the diploma of educational advisor-school psychologist from the canton of Bern or an equivalent qualification in education or school psychology. You have an interest in schools and special education environments. You are interested in collaborating with the professional network for children, can work independently but cooperatively within a small team. You are proficient with basic computer tools. A good level of German is desirable (ideally B2).

The Office of Compulsory Schooling and Counselling (OECO) of the Directorate of Public Education and Culture (INC) manages the areas of compulsory schooling (regular and specialised provision), the Psychological Service for Children and Adolescents, recognised music schools and school supervision for the German-speaking and French-speaking parts of the canton. The Cantonal Psychological Service for Children and Adolescents supports and advises parents, children and adolescents as well as persons and institutions responsible for the education and training of children and adolescents to help them resolve questions and problems related to development, education and schooling, from early childhood to the end of secondary level II education.
