The Municipal Libraries Service (BMU) is attached to the Department of Culture and Digital Transition of the City of Geneva. With its network of libraries in the districts and its outreach offer, the BMU service is an essential support to the proximity policy carried out by the City of Geneva. To complete its teams, the service is looking for two
Documentary Information Officers at 70%
Your mission and responsibilities
- Inform the public and assist them in their research.
- Collaborate in the lending service.
- Train users in the regular use of the library.
- Contribute to updating the collection.
- Contribute to the enhancement of the collection and the preparation of cultural and digital mediation activities.
- Welcome groups.
Your profile
- Hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as a documentary information officer.
- Have a good general and literary culture.
- Demonstrate skills in information research.
- Show a sense of organisation and autonomy.
- Have good interpersonal skills with a varied public.
- Demonstrate skills and a strong interest in cultural mediation.
- Master the French language.
- Experience in public reading and knowledge of a foreign language are assets.
