The Saunerie Wastewater Treatment Plant (Colombier NE) is responsible for pumping and treating wastewater from the municipalities of Milvignes, Boudry, Corcelles-Cormondrèche, Cortaillod, Valde-Ruz, Rochefort and partially Peseux. The teams at the Saunerie WWTP work daily to ensure efficient wastewater treatment in compliance with cantonal and federal standards. As part of the renovation and expansion of the Saunerie WWTP (2022-2031), it is seeking a:
Project Manager
Contract type: Fixed-term employment contract (until the end of the project)
Start date: To be agreed, ideally between 31.08.2026 and 31.07.2027. A gradual start is possible to facilitate the transition.
Work rate: 60-100%, spread over at least 4 days.
Workplace: Saunerie WWTP, Allée du Port 4, 2013 Colombier NE
Main responsibilities include:
- Representing and defending the interests of the Saunerie WWTP
- Independently managing planning, design follow-up, and construction supervision of the Saunerie WWTP renovation.
- Collaborating closely with the political authorities responsible for this project and the WWTP operations manager
- Overseeing the administrative and financial management of the project and providing regular project reporting to authorities through notes, recommendations, letters, etc.
- Ensuring the upgrading and modernisation of existing facilities while guaranteeing compliance with regulatory frameworks - Acting as an expert in wastewater technology (process, mechanical and other disciplines relevant to this project)
- Being proactive with management, solution-oriented, and providing a cross-cutting vision for this important project
Your profile:
- You have practical field knowledge.
- You have experience in a similar role within a public administration or private company and possess advanced project management skills
- You are an engineer, technician, or have equivalent professional training/experience in environment, chemical engineering, process engineering, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- It would be an advantage to have:
• Additional training in project management (CAS/MAS).
• A federal certificate as a wastewater treatment plant operator (FES/VSA) or currently undergoing training.
• Several years of experience (3 years) in maintenance, management or operation of similar facilities.
- You have knowledge of public procurement procedures and standards relevant to this project - You are proficient with common IT tools and BIM, with good writing skills
- You demonstrate resilience to the challenges of a project of this scale and have excellent deadline and priority management - You have strong analytical, synthesising and problem-solving skills
- You communicate confidently with the various project stakeholders - You know how to unite teams and stakeholders of a large project
- Your work is organised, rigorous and precise
