Our client is a recognised international company in the medical device industry, located in the Geneva region, operating in a highly regulated environment (GMP) and is seeking a Packaging Project Engineer to strengthen its Engineering / Technical Operations teams.

The Packaging Project Engineer will need to coordinate and manage manufacturing projects related to packaging activities subcontracted (CMO) as well as the implementation of new support systems, in collaboration with all concerned departments and respecting cost, deadline, and quality requirements.

  • Ensure the implementation of new product packaging.
  • Provide support for the management of master data related to all products and their manufacturing within the company.


Packaging Project Engineer



Responsibilities:

1. Packaging Project Management

  • Coordinate projects related to subcontracted packaging activities (CMO) and the implementation of new support systems, from project initiation to closure.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams (including external contractors if applicable) within a project management framework: defining and monitoring the charter and schedule, organising team meetings, communicating and achieving objectives within set deadlines.
  • Create and update technical files related to subcontracted manufacturing activities, if necessary.
  • Draft the documentation necessary for project tracking (project plans, risk analyses, protocols and reports, technical specifications, work instructions, KPIs and presentations, purchase orders / expense approvals, change logs, training evidence…) to allow review by competent authorities, in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Coordinate packaging changes or the implementation of new packaging according to the change control procedure.
  • Ensure that finished product packaging complies with their labelling specifications as defined in the technical dossier (TD) or country-specific dossier, and organise necessary modifications.
  • Provide the Planning department with up-to-date product specifications and the expected implementation dates of changes.
  • Ensure compliance with the established quality system, good manufacturing practices (GMP), company operating rules, and HSSE requirements for all assigned activities.
  • Participate in company or Group projects, at the request of project managers and within their area of expertise or responsibility (possible travel to different Group sites).
  • Participate, if necessary, in exception processes, NCMR and CAPA, and contribute to continuous improvement of production conditions.
  • Identify the resources necessary for the successful completion of their tasks and responsibilities, and provide regular activity reporting.

2. Master Data Management

  • Maintain master data necessary for product manufacturing:
  • Bill of Materials and associated documentation (DMR…);
  • Manufacturing routes and production flowcharts, including subcontracting steps if applicable;
  • Quality Management views in the ERP;
  • Support for master data of purchased products or components (specifications).
  • Ensure updating of master data both in company documentation (quality management system, etc.) and in the ERP, and ensure proper archiving of old technical data.
  • Create and update necessary articles, both in documentation and in the ERP.

Your profile:

  • Engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering and/or production, ideally in a regulated industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Proficiency in a SAP environment (or equivalent ERP).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows environment, Microsoft Project (or similar project management tool) and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good analytical skills, able to balance overall vision and attention to detail.
  • Clear, precise, and client-oriented communication of technical information, both oral and written.
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines and autonomously.
  • Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
  • Organisational skills and ability to manage priorities.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative.
  • Interpersonal intelligence and team spirit.
