Since its establishment in 1918, Suva has been one of the central institutions of the Swiss social insurance system and, with a premium volume of over CHF 4 billion, the most important player in the field of compulsory accident insurance. As a public law enterprise, it plays a decisive role in prevention, insurance, and rehabilitation. Your tasks

  • Assume overall responsibility for the operational management of benefits, including the steering of all relevant units and processes
  • Ensure the leadership and strategic development of the 5 specialised divisions: benefits management, insurance medicine, legal service, medical tariffs, and military insurance
  • Lead the 4 regions Centre, East, West, and South as well as the Innovation Staff Unit and Benefits Management Staff Unit
  • Proven success in developing and implementing strategies as well as in managing processes, change, and corporate culture development
  • Define and implement strategic initiatives, particularly in the areas of digitalisation, process optimisation, automation, and data-driven management
  • Promote a performance-oriented management culture focused on clients and fostering cross-functional collaboration
  • Participate, as a member of the Executive Board, in the operational management of the company as well as in the development and implementation of Suva’s overall strategy
  • Represent Suva to political, regulatory, and external stakeholders in the health and insurance sectors
  • Chair the LAA Medical Tariffs Commission and hold a board mandate at SwissDRG AG
  • Represent Suva within the European Forum of the Insurance against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases
Your profile
  • University education, ideally in business administration and/or law
  • Several years of proven experience in a comparable leadership role within the insurance sector, ideally with responsibilities at the Swiss national level
  • Excellent command of benefits management and in-depth understanding of complex insurance processes, preferably in the LAA environment
  • Proven success in developing and implementing strategies as well as in managing processes and change
  • Experience in transformation, digitalisation, and automation projects
  • Experience in managing political and regulatory issues as well as interactions with diverse stakeholders in a public environment
  • Ability to strategically develop complex organisations while ensuring operational excellence
  • Openness and skills in the field of artificial intelligence and data-driven management
  • Strong client and service orientation combined with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • High credibility and ease in relations with internal and external stakeholders at the national level
  • Comfortable in political environments and ability to unite divergent interests
  • Assertive leadership with strong strategic capability as well as recognised skills in transformation and communication
  • Fluency in German or French (negotiation level), good knowledge of English; Italian is an asset
