Description

Accredited under the LEHE, UniDistance Switzerland offers fully online university courses. It combines flexible, location-independent part-time distance learning with an active and interdisciplinary research culture on the Brig campus. For over 30 years, UniDistance Switzerland has been developing modern teaching, studies and research within five faculties – law, psychology, economics, history, as well as mathematics and computer science. The institution has more than 2700 students and approximately 550 staff members.

To strengthen our Data Protection service, we are looking for a dynamic and committed individual for the position of:



Data Protection Officer (DPO) Intern (100%)



Workplace: Brig, partial remote work possible
Start date: 1st October 2026 or by agreement
Duration: 6 months, renewable once (maximum 12 months)

UniDistance Switzerland is seeking an intern to join its DPO Unit and contribute to activities related to data protection, information governance and the monitoring of cross-institutional projects.

Your tasks

  • Assist and support teams in ensuring compliance of data processing and monitoring institutional projects.
  • Participate in document management, classification and updating of registers, inventories and internal documentation.
  • Contribute to the preparation, updating and improvement of procedures, guidelines and materials related to data protection and information governance.
  • Support awareness and guidance activities for staff on data protection issues and good digital practices.
  • Contribute to the activities of the IA Board.
  • Participate in various cross-cutting projects related to data governance, notably in the field of Open Research Data (ORD) and Open Access.
  • Conduct legal research and monitor regulatory and institutional developments.

Your profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree in law or a university Master’s in law, criminology and information technology security, or an equivalent recognised diploma.
  • You have a strong interest in data protection, information governance, Open Science and digital challenges.
  • You demonstrate initiative, pragmatism, autonomy and rigour.
  • Solution-oriented, you enjoy working with others and collaborating in an interdisciplinary approach.
  • Native French or German speaker, with very good knowledge of the other language as well as English.
