A reference media, «Le Temps» is the only French-speaking newspaper of national scope in Switzerland. Founded in 1998, it has been analysing Switzerland and the world daily for over twenty-five years and offers objective, reliable and quality information. The Le Temps group brings together «Le Temps», Heidi.news and Geneva Solutions, and employs more than 160 collaborators.
To complement our teams, we are looking for a:
Editorial Manager for Events M/F (100%)
Events represent an important content publishing platform for Le Temps. They are another way to share the skills and independence of the media, unique in French-speaking Switzerland, fostering exchanges with the Temps community and public debate on political, economic and social issues.
Your mission:
You are a journalist and you lead the editorial conception and programming of events organised by Le Temps, notably the Forum des 100, thematic forums (Real Estate, Health, Pension, Horizon), as well as exclusive events intended for our subscribers and partners. You are also involved in exclusive meetings, such as exchanges between readers and personalities. You are the driving force behind the development of this activity.
As guarantor of quality, coherence of programming, content and editorial independence, you will work closely with management, the editorial board, the editorial team, the events operational team, the marketing and audience team as well as the commercial team. You will also play a moderation role, ensuring that public speeches are consistent with the editorial objectives defined by the editorial board.
Your responsibilities:
Editorial conception and coordination of events

Organise and ensure the quality of editorial elements accompanying these events, before, during and after them.

Participate in exchanges with partners, in close collaboration with the commercial team.

Ensure the coordination of ambitious projects, at the crossroads of journalism, public stage and brand strategy, in a highly visible role that strongly engages Le Temps.

Develop the editorial programming of events, ensure their quality, interest and relevance, and actively collaborate with the operational team to translate editorial concepts into concrete and impactful events.

Define themes, select speakers, design formats and supervise the smooth editorial running of meetings, in collaboration with the editorial team.

Ensure editorial coherence of the various public speeches of the newspaper in connection with the events.

Develop new event formats in line with reader expectations and editorial priorities, in collaboration with the events team.

Participate in steering meetings with partners and ensure editorial follow-up until the events take place.

Manage programming, organisation and editorial elements before, during and after events.
Development and partnerships

Develop the event offer and support sponsor search in close collaboration with the operational and commercial teams.

Participate in the development of a coherent event calendar with the editorial and development objectives of the newspaper.
- Contribute to dissemination and communication strategies to maximise event visibility.
Your profile:

Holder of a PR certificate or equivalent.

Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in journalism and editorial programming as well as event production.

Ease in speaking, experience in hosting or moderating events.

Very large network in Switzerland in the political, economic and regional world, as well as abroad.

Excellent general knowledge, strong interest in Swiss, international and economic news and idea debate.

Strong writing and editorial skills.

Ability to collaborate with many internal and external stakeholders.

Autonomy, organisational skills, rigour and ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

Enthusiasm for developing a strategic sector of the company.

Good mastery of collaborative tools and interest in digital formats.

Very good knowledge of the Swiss media landscape and adherence to the editorial values of «Le Temps».

Very good command of German and English.
