Present in three cantons, HEMU – Haute École de Musique offers multidisciplinary teaching in classical music, jazz and contemporary music, at university level (Bachelor/Master), to 520 students from more than 45 different nationalities and is part of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland (HES-SO).
We are advertising a position for a:
Scientific Assistant HES - Research and Innovation Support at 50%
Your missions
R&I activities at HEMU
- Support the research director in all her activities and contribute to the smooth interaction between R&I activities and the various HEMU departments
- Advise researchers in preparing their funding applications (financial planning, methodological framework, partnerships) and in preparing their final reports
- Contribute to the programming, organisation, dissemination and monitoring of public activities related to research projects
- In collaboration with HEMU’s communication department, ensure the updating of communication tools for the mission (dedicated website pages, calendar, newsletter, etc.)
- In collaboration with La Manufacture, design the programming of the IRMAS lab "music, performing arts and society"
- Develop and maintain planning tools and various dashboards necessary for monitoring HEMU’s R&I activities (research indicators)
- Ensure the administrative follow-up of R&I projects (contracts, budget monitoring, links with HR and finance departments)
- Ensure the administrative follow-up of doctoral candidates supported by HEMU (invoices, expense claims, interim reports)
- Participate in drafting annual activity reports (annual report of the HEMU-CL Foundation, DGES report, IRMAS report)
Your profile
- Master’s degree in music, arts or humanities; a doctorate is a plus
- Strong interest in research in music or arts and in knowledge sharing
- Good understanding of the challenges and funding mechanisms for research and innovation (R&I) in Switzerland
- Knowledge of the Swiss academic landscape (HES-SO, swissuniversities) or ability to familiarise quickly
- Proven writing skills
- Rigour, curiosity, autonomy and commitment
- Enjoy working in a team and collaborating within an institutional framework
- Ability to serve others’ research projects
- Proficiency with common IT tools, ease with office and/or video software is a plus
- Basic budget monitoring knowledge
- Fluent in French and English, ideally German as well

Salary scale: Determined in connection with the assigned LHEV function (RRCM scale)
