Context:

Infomaniak develops platforms in the fields of webradio, video streaming and VOD, entirely developed and hosted within our own Swiss data centres. We design an interconnected ecosystem with our productivity tools (Mail, kChat, kMeet, kDrive), placing quality, reliability and user experience at the heart of every technical iteration.

Your responsibilities:

• Architecture & Design: Participate in the evolution of the backend to support real-time broadcasting and massive storage, ensuring scalability capable of handling simultaneous load peaks (live and VOD).
• Development of critical features: Design and implement adaptive streaming engines (HLS, DASH), and real-time features (pause, rewind, live) ensuring minimal latency and high availability.
• Quality and industrialisation: Ensure stream stability and maintainability of transcoding services through load test automation and rigorous involvement in code reviews.
• Reliability and security: Ensure content integrity and access compliance (geoblocking, authentication) by applying best security practices (stream encryption, API security, anti-piracy protection, etc.).

Profile sought:

• PHP / Laravel expertise: You have solid experience in modern PHP (version 8+) and master complex architectural patterns. Ideally through the use of the Laravel framework.
• Mastery of APIs & Microservices: Ability to design robust, high-performance and well-documented APIs for a multi-platform ecosystem (web, desktop, mobile).
• Performance culture: Excellent knowledge of databases (MySQL) and caching mechanisms (Redis) to handle large data volumes.

A plus if you have knowledge in:

• Experience in the Radio/Video domain (Icecast, FFmpeg, Wowza...)
• Experience with Docker / Kubernetes, GitLab CI is a plus.
• Experience with distributed storage technologies (S3, Ceph) or handling complex file systems.
• Open source contributions or side projects are appreciated
• You enjoy working in a team and demonstrate positive communication
