Who are we?

The Building Service develops major new construction or renovation projects by promoting architectural competitions and is responsible for the activities of the State of Fribourg: Education, Justice and Police, Social Domain, Administration, Research Laboratories, Logistics are some of the areas in which we manage State projects. For an exceptional project in the canton of Fribourg, we are looking for a project manager dedicated to the gradual renovation of the State of Fribourg’s real estate assets (framework credit).

Your tasks
  • Within the framework of this contract lasting 5 to 7 years, you represent the public client by managing and coordinating around forty building renovation projects of an energy and compliance nature based on the programme adopted by the State Council
  • You coordinate the work of project committees and ensure the development of projects in compliance with the programme, costs and schedule
  • You ensure the deployment of project deliverables as well as other quality assurance tools implemented by the Building Service with the project committees
  • You consolidate information and proposals for the general project steering committee
  • You guarantee the application of state procedures and public procurement rules
  • You keep the overall plan of commitments and expenditures up to date
  • You are proactive in managing cross-cutting and multifactorial projects, demonstrating initiative, functional leadership and strong communication skills with various stakeholders to meet the diverse challenges of the Building Service
  • Within the autonomy granted to you, you keep your hierarchical superiors informed by anticipating issues to be escalated
Desired profile
  • Master’s degree in architecture or engineering - or equivalent training - ideally complemented by a CAS in construction project management
  • You have several years of professional experience managing large complex real estate projects
  • You are familiar with matrix organisations and demonstrate ease in interpersonal relations
  • You show a strong sensitivity to sustainable development in the design, construction and operation of buildings
  • You master French or German with good knowledge of the other language
