The Food Safety and Veterinary Affairs Service (SAAV) is tasked with ensuring, through its inspections and analyses, that foodstuffs and everyday objects do not endanger consumers’ health or mislead them. It also ensures the welfare and health of animals for their own sake and for the benefit of humans.

- You plan and carry out inspections independently in the food establishments of the canton of Fribourg assigned to you
- In case of dispute, you decide and communicate the measures provided by the foodstuffs law
- You take samples of foodstuffs and everyday objects
- You write inspection and sampling reports
- You assess the results of controls and ensure the administrative follow-up of files
- You perform administrative tasks related to your activity (preliminary opinions, administrative decisions, various correspondence)
- You collaborate and work with the foodstuffs and everyday objects inspectorate team
- With the section, you contribute to the implementation of controls related to tobacco products, electronic cigarettes and similar products within the meaning of the federal law on tobacco products and electronic cigarettes.
- You hold a professional qualification with a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) in a food sector profession or an equivalent qualification
- You are willing to undertake training to obtain the federal diploma in foodstuffs control
- You have professional experience in hygiene and self-monitoring
- You are comfortable in contacts and have the ability to assert yourself and make decisions
- You regularly work externally with companies subject to SAAV control
- You are flexible (occasional evening or weekend work) and hold a driving licence (category B)
- You master German or French and have excellent knowledge of the other language (spoken and written)
