With nearly 1,500 employees, the Department of Rehabilitation and Geriatrics (DRG) is a medical centre focused on the elderly and is spread over 5 sites: Trois-Chêne, Loëx, Bellerive, Beau-Séjour and Joli-Mont. It manages acute situations, notably through the emergency services of the Trois-Chêne Hospital, age-specific issues, medical rehabilitation and palliative care.

The Internal Medicine and Rehabilitation Service of the Beau-Séjour Hospital (STERN building) consists of acute care units and rehabilitation care units, welcoming patients under 75 years old requiring multidisciplinary care.

Since June 2024, the activities of the SMIR Beau-Séjour have been located in the Lina Stern building on the Cluse-Roseraie site during renovation works.



Assistant or Assistant in Community Care and Health - 80% or 90%


As part of your role within the internal medicine and rehabilitation service of the Beau-Séjour hospital, you support patients daily in their care pathway.

In this capacity and under the responsibility of the nursing staff, you assist patients in their daily living activities. You communicate appropriately with patients and know how to reassure them when necessary.

You perform medical-technical acts within your competencies autonomously. You notably measure blood pressure, prepare medication treatments, change dressings and perform injections and samples.

You ensure the maintenance of equipment, furniture and carry out administrative and logistical activities within your unit.

You actively participate in the prevention of complications related to hospitalisation in collaboration with other health professional groups (pain, pressure sore prevention, fall prevention…).


Qualifications

You hold the Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as an assistant in community care and health (ASSC) and possess a valid practice licence in the canton of Geneva.

You have demonstrated your technical skills in care practice and are a professional recognised for your interpersonal ease both with patients and the care team. Experience in caring for patients in an acute service is an asset.

You possess great rigour as well as a keen sense of organisation, stress management and prioritisation. Furthermore, you demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and have a strong interest in the follow-up of elderly patients. You are also comfortable with caring for elderly patients presenting cognitive and/or behavioural disorders.

Thanks to your team spirit, you work interprofessionally to unite all partners around a common vision to develop care projects aimed at optimal care for patients and their relatives.

Comfort with IT tools is necessary to successfully carry out this mission, as well as a very good knowledge of the French language.
