Administrative & Operations Director - Documentation Centre

Responsibilities

Reporting to an executive management, the incumbent leads the strategic development and operational management of library, archive and scientific information services. The role involves supervising a multidisciplinary team and ensuring a high level of performance, innovation and alignment with institutional objectives.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Defining and implementing an ambitious and forward-looking strategy for documentary and archive services.
  • Leading digital transformation initiatives, notably around AI, research data management and information systems.
  • Ensuring operational excellence of user services, collections and archives.
  • Managing resources, budgets and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Developing strong partnerships with faculties, internal services and external partners.
  • Representing the organisation in national and international networks.
  • Advising management on strategic issues related to scientific publishing and open access.
  • Promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

The candidate is an experienced leader, capable of managing complex organisations and supporting their evolution in academic or knowledge-oriented environments.

Key skills include:

  • Proven experience in managing and developing large multidisciplinary teams (50+ people).
  • Ability to lead organisational transformations and support change.
  • Strategic vision combined with effective operational execution.
  • Collaborative and unifying management style, fostering engagement and accountability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior stakeholders.
  • Initiative-driven mindset focused on innovation and continuous service improvement.
  • Proficiency in budget management and performance monitoring.
  • Good understanding of issues related to higher education, research and digital transformation.
  • Effective communication in an international environment (fluent French and English).
