Give meaning to the mobility of tomorrow
The evolution of the TPG organisation plans the creation at the beginning of 2027 of the Development Directorate to coordinate, simplify, and prioritise development and innovation missions, with clear governance and a consolidated vision allowing for greater clarity, more focused resources, and faster decision-making.
This Development business area (DA) (around 100 employees) is at the heart of mobility digitalisation, and it will include:
- Information systems,
- project management office (PMO),
- network development,
- the innovation unit.
IT is the cornerstone of this future DA, one of the engines of innovation, serving the development of solutions (autonomous vehicles, intelligent traffic management, metro control, or integration of Artificial Intelligence, connected customer applications).
This attachment should promote an integrated approach between technology and the ambitions for sustainable and intelligent network development.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Management Committee, the Development Director leads and implements the growth and transformation strategy of TPG, in line with the State's mission letter.
He/she identifies new development opportunities (services, partnerships, revenue diversification) and establishes a culture of innovation to ensure the sustainability of the public transport service, enhance efficiency, and anticipate mobility changes in the Geneva area.
Main Responsibilities
1/ Strategic Development
- Develop a medium-term vision with the next Service Contract 2030-2034 (CP) and a long-term vision of growth and mobility offer adaptation opportunities up to 2050.
- Propose and implement innovative economic models compatible with the public service mission.
- Develop partnerships with local authorities, foundations, companies, start-ups, and academic institutions (UniGE).
- Identify and manage new revenue streams (real estate valorisation, data exploitation, integrated mobility).
- Direct the IT service towards projects supporting mobility digitalisation.
2/ Innovation
- Define and lead the company’s innovation roadmap.
- Launch and coordinate pilot projects, experiments, and prospective studies (e.g. commercial speed, metro…)
- Establish a transversal culture of innovation across all business areas (DA).
- Develop an external innovation network (start-ups, laboratories, professional associations, UITP, Romandy public transport).
3/ Internal Transformation
- Support the evolution of professions and skills related to development projects.
- Encourage the adoption of innovative technologies and methods by internal teams, including decision support and internal process automation.
- Ensure alignment between innovative projects, corporate strategy, and budgetary constraints.
4/ Management and Performance
- Define performance indicators (KPIs) for project impact (financial, operational, environmental, societal).
- Ensure reporting to Management, the Board of Directors, and the State (DSM, OCT).
- Ensure investment efficiency and demonstrate return on investment (ROI) and return on experience (ROE).
5/ External Representation
- Represent the company in Swiss and international professional networks related to mobility and innovation.
- Promote the company’s image and successes to institutional partners and the public.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree or higher education (economics, engineering, mobility, innovation management or equivalent).
- Additional training in project management, change management, or public governance is an asset.
- Proven experience (10+ years) in strategic, development, and innovation roles, ideally in the public sector or mobility.
- Experience as a senior executive with significant managerial and budgetary responsibilities.
- Concrete achievements in organisational transformation and/or innovative projects.
