To complete our teams following the departure of one of our members, we are seeking a: Deputy Editor-in-Chief at 100%.Your missionThe deputy editor-in-chief is a member of the editorial team, under the responsibility of the editor-in-chief, ensuring the development of high-impact, high-quality content in current events and in-depth features, in line with the editorial line of Le Temps. The role has a particular focus on readers and internet users. It ensures a process involving all journalists and the various members working at the news desk to optimize the efficiency and impact of resources. It ensures the smooth functioning of the editorial team, respecting editorial guidelines, ensuring timely dissemination of content, all in close collaboration with other editorial team members. It is at the core of implementing new modes of operation aimed at ensuring the growth and retention of Le Temps subscribers. It collaborates closely with other teams at Le Temps: production, marketing, subscriptions, events, and participates in developing a transversal company culture.Responsibilities- Collaborate closely with other editorial team members to ensure excellent content and guarantee very high quality for Le Temps.- Collaborate closely with the heads of each section to ensure that the content produced corresponds to the agreed plans and is disseminated appropriately across various platforms.- Manage the continuous cycle of deadlines throughout the day, according to the schedules of the News Chief (6 AM-3 PM or 1 PM-8:30 PM), ensuring that the right content is delivered at the right times and to the desired schedules.- Supervise the production of digital and print content in collaboration with the responsible teams to ensure the very high quality of Le Temps, both in substance and form.- Anticipate editorial choices and decisions in the medium term to ensure optimal quality.- Manage specific projects within the editorial team or transversally as required.Requirements:- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in journalism.- Proven and successful experience of at least 5 years in leading editorial teams.- Proven and successful experience in project management and undisputed spirit of collaboration.- Skills in new journalistic practices as well as in new technologies, developed digital culture, and a strong sense of responsibility, very good interpersonal skills and developed team spirit.- Experience and/or ability to collaborate effectively according to the principles of the agile method.- A forward-thinking mindset and ability to anticipate developments in the ecosystem.- In-depth knowledge of Swiss current events and a developed network in Switzerland and abroad.- Excellent knowledge of French, very good knowledge of German, and beneficial comprehensive journalism training and registration in the professional register (RP).We offer you:The opportunity to join a dynamic team of manageable size in a stimulating framework and a pleasant work environment, in bright offices well-served by public transport.
