We are looking for a committed and professionally skilled individual starting September 2026 or by arrangement.

Department Head: Red Cross Transport Service and Public Transport Escort Service (80 – 100%)

Your Area of Responsibility

• You lead and develop the department including personnel management and promotion

• You successfully implement organisational changes together with your team

• You continuously optimise and develop services and processes, ensuring high quality

• In collaboration with the internal IT department, you are responsible for the central systems in the transport service and their further development and maintenance

• Planning, budgeting and reporting for the department are your responsibility

• By maintaining internal and external networks, you strengthen collaboration and occasionally participate in projects and national committees

• As an interface to the divisional management and other departments, you promote cross-departmental cooperation

• You also actively participate in operational day-to-day business (customer service, dispatch and administration)

• Together with the regional managers, you ensure the recruitment, support and appreciation of around 1,000 volunteers

Your Profile

• Several years of leadership experience with teams in various roles and functions within the service sector, ideally in customer service, dispatch or internal services

• Commercial training or comparable qualification with a strong service and customer orientation

• Solid understanding of processes as well as experience handling key figures, evaluations and reporting as a basis for decisions

• Affinity for IT and digitalisation topics, experience with Office 365 as well as ERP or CRM systems is an advantage

• Enjoyment in actively shaping change and thinking across departments, even in hectic situations

• Strong communication skills, empathy and tact in dealing with different stakeholders

• A structured, solution-oriented and independent working style

• Enjoyment in working with volunteers and appreciation of their commitment as a fundamental pillar of our offering
