Your mission

The Civil Court of Justice is the highest cantonal authority in civil matters. At the heart of a superior jurisdiction and within a team of experienced lawyers, you assist the judges in all legal tasks within their competence and contribute essentially to the application of civil law and the development of cantonal case law. As a court clerk-lawyer, you assist the judges of the Civil Court of Justice. You provide your legal expertise to the judges in handling the most complex cases and take part in the legal reflections that shape Geneva's jurisprudence.

Your responsibilities include the following:
• Independently drafting complete draft rulings in various areas of civil law
• Taking part in deliberations
• Conducting in-depth legal research
• Occasionally preparing legal opinions

Your profile

Holder of a Swiss law degree or master's and the lawyer's certificate, you have three years of professional experience in the judicial field.

Legal and linguistic skills
Your excellent knowledge of the law is accompanied by perfect mastery of French and remarkable writing skills. You have a good understanding of German, especially legal German. Your developed analytical and synthetic mind allows you to approach cases with independent thought and real decision-making ability.
Personal qualities
Your intellectual rigour and integrity are recognised. You show openness to criticism and know how to manage a heavy workload, coping well under stress. You fully adhere to the values of public service and justice.
Technical skills
You master office tools (Windows environment: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and typing.
