Commercial Project Lead

to join the Bavarian Nordic Commercial team as a core member of multiple strategic product teams. In this role, you will lead critical commercial initiatives and drive life cycle plans through structured project management, cross-functional coordination, and executional excellence to maximize efficiency, portfolio value, and patient impact.

The Commercial Project Lead will have direct line responsibility for the Commercial Project Manager and report to the Head of Commercial Analytics & Strategic Projects, playing a key role in aligning project execution with strategic business priorities.

  • Drive end-to-end planning and execution of strategic commercial initiatives, including product launches and market entries, by developing integrated cross-functional plans aligned with business needs, coordinating resources, tracking milestones, and ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Establish and manage project governance frameworks and operating models to enable effective decision-making, leadership visibility, risk escalation, and cross-functional accountability.
  • Manage product team operations in close collaboration with team leads, providing structure, oversight, communication, and a strong commercial focus to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Drive plans execution, change management, and risk mitigation, including reviewing and updating plans, identifying inflection points, managing risks and issues, and adapting to evolving priorities to maintain momentum and protect key milestones.
  • Facilitate collaboration across Commercial, Medical, Access, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Global/Local teams, ensuring unified execution, high-quality decision-making, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement and transparent communication across functions, supporting governance bodies with timely updates, recommendations, and structured input to drive strategic clarity and alignment.
  • Develop and evaluate business cases and strategic initiatives, providing well-structured recommendations to support prioritization and investment decisions.
  • Coordinate and manage key project meetings, workshops, and steering committees, ensuring delivery of consolidated plans, performance updates, risk logs, and executive-facing materials.
  • Support post-launch assessments and initiative evaluations to measure commercial impact, capture lessons learned and inform future strategic planning and execution cycles.

  • +8 years of relevant work experience in similar roles in a pharma/biotech enterprise.
  • Previous experience in Commercial or a strong understanding of the Commercial function and activities is a must
  • Master´s degree in life science (e.g. Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry); MBA is a plus
  • Experience in working cross-functionally and managing multiple mid-senior level stakeholders in a complex environment
