The UCI World Cycling Centre (CMC) in Aigle is an outstanding multi-sport facility. It is used by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) as a training centre and features a 200m Velodrome, a BMX Racing Track, a Pumptrack and a BMX Freestyle Park. Inaugurated in 2002, it welcomes a large number of athletes from around the world who devote all their energy to their sports career. The UCI WCC trains and develops about 100 athletes a year in five Olympic disciplines (Road, Track, MTB, BMX and BMX Freestyle).

Coach in charge of the UCI WCC Women's Continental Team (100%)

The mission of the UCI WCC Women’s Continental Team Coach is to identify, develop, and nurture female road cyclists predominantly coming from emerging cycling nations.
This is achieved by offering personalized training plans, tailored racing opportunities, educational experiences, and by ensuring a safe and optimal daily training and racing environment.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and organise team management during national and international competitions.
  • Propose race strategies aligned with the team’s objectives and athlete development.
  • In collaboration with the Road Manager and Head of Sport Development:
  • Identify and recruit new talents.
  • Plan and implement training programmes adapted to each athlete’s potential.
  • Design an age- and stage-appropriate race calendar in line with team goals.
  • Supervise and monitor training sessions.
  • Analyse athletes’ progression, performance, and training data.
  • Assess physical, mental, tactical, and technical attributes.
  • Detect and correct technical or tactical weaknesses.
  • Manage travel logistics during competitions.
  • Support athletes in their sporting careers and overall personal development.
  • Accompany teams during competitions in Switzerland and abroad.

Profile:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Road Sports Director, coach, or high-level road cyclist.
  • Degree in Sports Science, Coaching, or equivalent qualification.
  • Federal Degree or UCI Sport Director Diploma.
  • Strong road cycling culture and in-depth knowledge of techniques and tactics.
  • Up-to-date understanding of modern coaching methodologies.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with solid writing skills.
  • Experience with TrainingPeaks and WKO5 software.
  • Valid First Aid certification.
  • Fluent in English and French (Spanish is a plus).
  • Ability to supervise track cycling sessions and competitions is an advantage.
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel abroad, including weekends.
