Founded in Lausanne in 1843, the Asile des aveugles Foundation includes the Jules-Gonin Ophthalmic Hospital, a university ophthalmology service, a research centre, the Educational Centre for Visually Impaired Pupils (CPHV), social services, rehabilitation and low vision, and the Clair-Soleil medico-social establishment.
More than 650 collaborators mobilise every day in the service of visual health to offer diagnostic, treatment and support services to people with visual impairments.
To complete our team, we are looking for a
Clinical Research Optometrist
Your mission
You will be part of the optometrists team, while mainly working in clinical research. Within the clinical research team and under the supervision of the CIC manager, you will play a key role in the implementation of research protocols.
As such, you will contribute to conducting clinical studies, managing participants and performing medico-technical examinations, in strict compliance with good clinical practice (ICH-GCP), study protocols and regulatory requirements.
Your contribution will be essential to the smooth running of the service's research projects, as well as to the quality, reliability and enhancement of clinical data.
Your main activities
At the heart of clinical studies
- Organise participant appointments according to timelines imposed by protocols
- Perform medico-technical examinations related to studies (BCVA ETDRS, imaging)
- Ensure preparation and management of equipment necessary for certifications and protocols
- Enter and document clinical data as well as adverse events in the eCRF/CRF
- Participate in the management and analysis of data and images from studies
Contribution to service operation
- Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of technical equipment (ETDRS, imaging, etc.)
- Participate in study logistics (biological samples, laboratory equipment, medical devices)
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service procedures and processes
Involvement in research projects
- Participate, depending on projects, in drafting study-related documents (guidelines, operational supports)
- Contribute to the preparation of submission dossiers to competent authorities
Your assets
- HES diploma in optometry or equivalent qualification, Red Cross recognition of the diploma is mandatory
- Minimum 3 years of confirmed clinical experience in optometry, ideally in a hospital setting
- Authorisation to practise independently in Switzerland
- GCP certificate recognised by national ethics committees is a plus
- Recognised training in clinical research is an asset
