## The Position ##

 At Roche/Genentech Pharma Product Development Global Clinical Operations (PDG), we are determined to transform drug development and realize our Pharma Ambition to deliver 20 transformative medicines addressing diseases with the highest societal burden by 2029. We are looking for a Clinical Operations Therapeutic Area Leader to lead and drive the delivery of our Neurology Portfolio. This senior people leadership position holds significant accountability for clinical operations strategy and execution as well as enterprise collaboration.

Cross functionally we conduct global clinical trials, analyze results, monitor safety, and work with regulatory authorities to provide truly differentiated medicines to patients. **The Opportunity: **

The Neurology Clinical Operations  Therapeutic Area Leader in PDG at Roche/Genentech is responsible and accountable for the strategy and delivery of the PD portfolio of programs and studies in Neurology. As the Neurology Therapeutic Area Leader, you will: 

**Develop and Refine Neurology Portfolio Strategy**
Accountable for the PD clinical operations strategy for Neurology. Continuously adapt the strategy to evolving landscapes to align with the Clinical Development Plan (CDP) and the One Pharma Strategy.

**Portfolio Oversight and Risk Management**
Maintain active oversight of asset and study delivery, ensuring awareness of portfolio status, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies to enable efficient and effective clinical trial execution.

**Strategic Stakeholder Alignment and Decision-Making**
Collaborate across PDG, APO, COEs, and enterprise teams to ensure alignment on strategic priorities. Act as a key decision-maker for operational Neurology portfolio decisions, including those beyond the PDG country footprint.

**Operational Excellence and Innovation**
Leverage analytics and optimization expertise to enhance efficiency, quality, and budget management. Drive innovation by implementing new processes and approaches, improving probability of technical success (PTS), and ensuring a patient- and investigator-focused research approach.

**Representation and Influence Across Roche Enterprise**
Serve as the PDG voice for Neurology, fostering relationships with internal leaders and external stakeholders, such as health authorities, Therapeutic Area Experts (TAEs), patient advocacy organizations, and vendors, to drive portfolio success.

**Leadership and Talent Development**
Lead a matrixed team of ~150 employees, including 10-12 direct reports. Foster a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and high performance while championing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I). Support professional growth and address barriers for all team members.

**Collective Leadership with an Enterprise Mindset**
Represent Neurology as part of the Portfolio Delivery Leadership Team. Demonstrate collective leadership to align PDG and PD priorities, driving outcomes in service of patients, investigative sites, and Roche-s overarching mission.

**People Management and Administrative Oversight**
Oversee team performance through feedback, coaching, and development planning. Manage administrative responsibilities, including Workday tasks and employment-related matters, ensuring smooth team operations and engagement.

**Who you are:**

*  15+ years pharmaceutical clinical Operations experience with at least 10 years being in global   clinical operations Strategy  Leadership. Additional commercial or relevant experience is considered an asset.  

* Strong knowledge in the area of Neurological diseases  including external trends and issues in the global Neurology landscape, and development and delivery 
* Comprehensive understanding of global Pharma Clinical development in international settings 
* Proven success in strategy development and execution using analytics, data-driven decision-making, and a track record of expanding access to underserved populations while meeting or exceeding ambitious goals.
* Experience managing large, matrixed organizations, including leading direct reports and people leaders, recruiting and developing high-performing teams, and fostering collaboration and trust with stakeholders.
* Fluency in English with additional language skills as an asset, and flexibility for frequent national or international travel based on business needs.

This position can be located at the Basel, Switzerland; South San Francisco, United States; Welwyn, England; or Mississauga, Canada HQ sites.  Expectation of ongoing and sustained campus presence at the site in compliance with local requirements.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $227,600 - $422,600.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
