With more than 13,000 employees representing 160 professions, the Geneva University Hospitals are a nationally and internationally recognised institution. To learn more about our organisation, take a few minutes to view our 2025 retrospective by clicking here.

The nursing management embodies the authority in nursing matters. Its mission is to guarantee the quality and safety of care within the institution. In this respect, the nursing director has oversight of all nursing activities (nurses and various health professionals). To fulfil this mission, it relies on three areas of expertise: Clinical expertise and professional practices, management and transformation, and quality, safety and sustainability.

The psychiatry department, with nearly 1,300 employees, effectively detects and treats increasingly common and diverse pathologies with respect for patients and their relatives. Its mission within the HUG also includes training and research.
