The position is within the Department of Community and Primary Care Medicine (DMCPR). This department combines a social mission aimed at ensuring access to care for all and an academic mission aimed at providing pre- and post-graduate teaching and research in primary care medicine. The Primary Care Medicine Service (SMPR) provides care for adults who fall under primary care. This service also offers emergency medicine to support general interest missions of the HUG, providing access to care for disadvantaged individuals due to their age, social, economic, or legal status (asylum seekers, those flagged for non-entry, undocumented, prisoners), or their lifestyle habits; if needed, the Primary Care Medicine Service also ensures continuity of care. The Torture and War Victims Care (CTG) service provides adults suffering from extreme violence with medical, psychological support and is part of the Support for Torture Victims group and is financially supported by the Swiss Red Cross. The CTG of Geneva has existed since... It collaborates actively within the group to ensure care for these vulnerable individuals. For survivors of torture, war, and persecution to integrate into our society, it is essential they regain health, autonomy, and dignity. The multidisciplinary offer of our service enables them to better manage their experiences, develop their personal abilities, and consolidate their family resources.You will welcome, assess, and provide therapeutic care for individuals over 16 years of age suffering from the sequelae of torture or war (physical, psychological, social), or their relatives. Professionals and humanitarian workers can also be evaluated. You will assess the types of torture, their impacts on mental, physical, and social health, establish treatment plans, and also assess other types of interpersonal violence experienced and treat them using a closely interdisciplinary approach with other colleagues from the unit and service, as well as the Geneva network for migrants. You may also support other types of victims (cases of domestic violence, human trafficking, forced marriages...). You will participate in the activities of the primary care service (medical symposium, working groups...). You will take part in both external and internal activities of the CTG (team colloquia, supervision, intervision, development of specific tools, as well as networking activities at the cantonal and federal levels). Specific engagement will be required for the deployment of CTG activities to increase visibility and courses will be advanced in... with at least 2 years of experience as a chief resident or attending physician, including at least 1 year of experience with migrants and have knowledge in... You must hold an X physician diploma or an equivalent title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions (MEBEKO). You possess a cantonal authorization and if you have a title, you master the French language perfectly (level C1). A good knowledge of English is desired; a good knowledge of and a personal interest in the migrant community, the Swiss health system, Swiss asylum policy, and the (complex area) are required. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and hospital-university context to ensure comprehensive care (contact with nurses, social workers, lawyers, and interpreters, the care network such as the health unit for asylum seekers, the MEME system, the network). You have a strong capacity for listening and know how to build relationships. You also manage treatment proposals, and you are adept at preparing documents and reports for various institutions, in collaboration with attending physicians.
