Checkpoint Vaud, hosted at the Community and HIV-STI Competence Centre (CCO), aimed at men who have sex with men (MSM) and trans, non-binary people and their partners, is active in the field of sexual and psychosocial health.

We wish to recruit for Checkpoint Vaud in Lausanne on a permanent contract (CDI):



A Peer Leader Practitioner for the Chemsex Programme (20-30%)



Main missions:

  • Adopt a concerned peer stance, in a stable recovery process, to create a trusting relationship with users.
  • Participate in the establishment, facilitation and development of a Chemsex discussion group.
  • Welcome, guide and support people concerned by Chemsex, taking into account their needs, journey and situation.
  • Contribute to the development of the Chemsex project, in collaboration with professionals involved in the Chemsex consultation and the Checkpoint’s psychological unit.
  • Participate in community actions, prevention, awareness-raising and harm reduction, including outreach.
  • Facilitate the orientation of users towards appropriate resources in sexual health, mental health, substance use, harm reduction and psychosocial support.

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification
  • Person concerned by Chemsex, in a stable recovery process.
  • Training as a peer practitioner in mental health, equivalent training in peer support, or willingness to train in this field.
  • Good knowledge of Chemsex realities, consumption practices, harm reduction and sexual and psychosocial health issues.
  • Skills in active listening, helping relationships, non-judgemental support and orientation towards appropriate resources.
  • Ability to professionally mobilise lived experience, contained and adapted to the institutional framework.
  • Experience or strong interest in group facilitation, community actions, outreach or fieldwork.
  • Knowledge of LGBTIQ+ realities and community, social, health or specialised networks in the field of addictions is an asset.
  • Proficiency in common IT tools (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Languages: very good oral French. English, Spanish and Portuguese are an asset.
