The European Broadcasting Union EBU is looking for a C2PA Project Manager.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION
With the increasing velocity of digital content and the increasing availability of powerful creation and editing techniques, establishing the provenance of media is critical to ensure transparency, understanding, and ultimately, trust.
One way of doing so is to attach and display provenance information to different types of media, allowing the audience to trace the origin of the content.
C2PA coalition is developing specifications for certifying the source and history (or provenance) of media content: C2PA Technical Specification :: C2PA Specifications.
The C2PA Project Manager will be part of EBU T&I department.
He/She will be the go-to person for all C2PA related technical projects. The position covers several key areas;
Contribute to Industry standards: (s)he will represent EBU and contribute to on-going developments of specifications for Provenance and Authenticity of content in media, including C2PA , SMPTE, JPEG Trust associations.
C2PA integration: (s)he will actively support integration of C2PA in their media workflow and products. (s)he will work with requestors on defining the exact scope of each integration project, estimating time and resource required.
Technical implementation: (s)he will develop and maintain EBU C2PA toolbox that members could use as a service for PoC projects, relying open source components made available in the industry (https://opensource.contentauthenticity.org/docs/introduction) and integrating with partners systems.
Technical Leadership: (s)he will demonstrate technical leadership to investigate on technologies and best practices, build relations with stakeholders at members’ and in the industry. (S)he’ll participate to the definition of new recommendations to improve trust in the Media industry. (S)he will contribute to the preparation and publication of technical papers, presentations and news releases.
(s)he will constantly gather and analyze any development in the industry related to Content provenance EBU
Group Coordination: (S)he will coordinate a group of EBU members on C2PA, and foster collaboration and cross-fertilization. (S)he will be proactive to on-board new members and develop potential new activities for the group.
Technical queries: (S)he’ll will be the main contact for all technical queries related to C2PA, acting as primary contact for members, liaison contact for other stakeholders.
Project management: (S)he’ll participate, manage, coordinate and report on technical projects involving internal and external project partners.
EBU representative: (S)he’ll will represent EBU at seminars and conferences as well as towards press and other media. (S)he is an excellent public speaker and enjoy sharing and exchanging knowledge with colleagues in the industry and stakeholders from different backgrounds.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
Proven track record, and appropriate qualifications, in managing research projects;
Relevant experience in the mobile telecommunications technology field.
Relevant experience in the media distribution
LANGUAGE - Excellent command of English and French
EDUCATION - Master’s Degree, subject: engineering / technical
