Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d) Shape the Future of Biologics Manufacturing as a Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d) Assignment period: 01.12.2026 – 30.11.2027 Location: Schachen (LU) Employment type: Temporary placement via nemensis ag For our client, an internationally active biopharmaceutical company based in the canton of Lucerne, we are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer (m/f/d). The company develops and manufactures innovative biologics for early-stage clinical supply in a state-of-the-art, multi-product facility and is recognized as a Top Employer in Switzerland and Europe. Your responsibilities Act as the go-to specialist for automation and control strategies (DCS, MES, SCADA) across several manufacturing systems, keeping operations GMP-compliant Troubleshoot complex equipment and automation issues to boost performance and support new product introductions Drive the transfer of process technologies from early development into GMP-ready operations Introduce innovative technologies, software and instrumentation to simplify manufacturing workflows Lead investigations into deviations and implement effective corrective actions Support qualification activities by writing, reviewing and executing test documentation Collaborate with Operations, Quality and Validation teams, and contribute to digital transformation projects What you bring Degree in a life-science or engineering discipline, or at least 5 years of hands-on experience in automation controls Minimum 3 years' experience in automation or engineering within biologics, pharma, food or medical device manufacturing Solid knowledge of computer system validation and change-control procedures such as GAMP 5 Hands-on experience with DeltaV batch design based on ISA S88/S95 standards Practical knowledge of DeltaV control strategy and recipe configuration for process equipment Familiarity with DCS, MES and historian platforms; I/O networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, OPC, Profinet, Modbus) are a plus Strong command of English (C1 level), written and spoken What nemensis offers you Nemensis AG is your specialized personnel recruitment partner for the Life Sciences sector, based in Basel Comprehensive guidance and support throughout the application process provided by our consultants Access to an extensive client network and exciting positions across north-western Switzerland Fast and straightforward entry thanks to individual guidance and advice during the application process At nemensis ag, we've already connected thousands of candidates with their dream job – helping them grow professionally or step back into the job market with confidence.
