HYDRO Exploitation SA is a leading service provider primarily active in the operation and maintenance of electrical production facilities. Under one roof, we bring together all the specific skills of our profession, from maintenance staff to engineering.

We operate a portfolio of facilities including more than 40 hydroelectric power plants with an installed capacity of about 22% of the Swiss hydroelectric fleet (25% including pumped storage). Together, these facilities produce nearly 16% of Swiss hydroelectric energy.

Automation Engineer

Workplace: Hybrid

Your mission:

Within the Automation & Control unit, as an experienced automation engineer, you carry out control-command and communication projects in the fields of hydroelectricity and water management and treatment. Since operation is our core business, you also contribute to maintenance and interventions in the operated facilities.

Your responsibilities:

  • Program industrial controllers and carry out their commissioning
  • Strengthen and develop the skills of the Automation & Control unit in the implementation of industrial automation installations
  • Participate in the development of technical concepts as well as in the development and maintenance of control-command systems for the operated facilities
  • Execute and manage large-scale, complete and complex projects of automation and industrial networks, from detailed study to commissioning, as technical leader
  • Organise and coordinate technician-constructors and third-party suppliers within the framework of projects

Your skills:

  • HES/EPFL engineer in automation with 3 years of experience
  • Good knowledge of Siemens and Schneider controllers
  • Knowledge and/or experience in Data Science / Machine Learning is a plus
  • Desired experience in hydroelectric facilities or energy production plants
  • Excellent sense of responsibility and safety
  • Native French or German speaker, with very good knowledge of the other language
