**Position Summary**
** **
We are looking for an **Associate Specialist Statistics**, to be responsible for developing and implementing statistical approaches from inception through all stages of project development in the Analytical Sciences and Food Safety domain. As an Associate Specialist Statistics you will apply your knowledge in statistics for Food Safety and Quality to provide relevant scientific guidance in response to corporate, business and consumer needs. The position will participate in the development of a data-driven mindset in NIFSAS and in NR in collaboration with other entities (e.g. data analytics network).

**A Day in the Life of an** **Associate Specialist Statistics**

* Participate in the Data science strategy of NIFSAS
* Work in close collaboration with domain experts and scientists to apply relevant statistical and data science tools
* Propose methods to quantify and evaluate the quality of results
* Build and document knowledge about latest methods, trends, insights and developments in Statistics
* Propose new ideas or methods to get more from existing or new data
* Integrate basic knowledge from other fields in the interpretation of the results
* Build internal and external networks in data sciences and actively participate in relevant events
* Translate main results into relevant information and communicate them through reports and presentations

**What Will Make You Successful**
** **
* PhD or Master-s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field, or a technical diploma with demonstrated professional experience, with specialization and/or experience in Statistics and Machine Learning
* Working experience in the field of expertise in a support function and dealing with cross-functional teams and activities
* Experience in dealing with product development or in quality environment
Additionally, the good candidate has the following soft skills:
* Excellent communication skills in English
* Flexibility and excellent organizational skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
* Ability to handle multiple deadlines simultaneously
