With nearly 1,000 employees, the Department of Acute Medicine (D-MA) includes the services of anesthesiology, clinical pharmacology and toxicology, intensive care, and emergency services. It responds to a quadruple mission through its services, which provide their expertise in frequent interaction with all the University Hospitals of Geneva, with a transversal goal of ensuring the best possible care. The Anesthesiology Service is a transversal service of HUG at the heart of medical technology. With its 8 medical units (7 anesthesiology units and one peri-interventional care unit) and a research unit, its mission aims to ensure the comfort and safety of patients during therapeutic or diagnostic acts, medical or surgical, as well as during post-interventional care, while ensuring proper pain management. The largest center in Switzerland in terms of the number of interventional procedures performed each year, the Anesthesiology Service is at the forefront of advances made in this field. The service also provides pre-graduate, post-graduate, and continuing education for nursing staff and specialized doctors. The Anesthesiology Service also intervenes in the field of interventional pain management and in vital intra-hospital or pre-hospital emergencies alongside the department chief doctor. As the Unit Head of Anesthesiology, you will supervise and coordinate clinical activities and manage anesthetic medical staff to ensure efficient functioning of resources at the Anesthesiology Unit (UAA). You will assist the chief doctor of the anesthesiology service in supervising medical activities and designing policy. You will participate in the anesthetic activity of the UAA and research activities and hold the medical degree recognized by MEBEKO and the title of specialist in anesthesiology. You must possess the right to practice in the canton of Geneva and have the title of lecturer and/or the title of Professor or have recognized expertise in the field of clinical research, along with a clinical research record in anesthesia. You have a strong interest in teaching and additional responsibilities.
