The Green Spaces Service (SEVE), which comprises about 250 staff members, manages and develops the greenery of the City of Geneva in a sustainable way and in the interest of the public. To complement its team, SEVE is looking for its future Deputy Director, responsible for the green spaces maintenance unit.Your mission and responsibilities:- Lead and organize the Green Spaces Maintenance unit and oversee all its legal and financial activities.- Supervise the staff members of the unit (about 170) distributed across various sectors, set objectives, support them, and guide them in their mission.- Develop the directives and processes necessary for proper management and enabling the implementation of management plans and various biodiversity measures of the City of Geneva.- Optimize the means and resources allocated (human, technical, and financial, etc.).- Ensure coherence between the sectors, the quality of work, and the fair distribution of resources according to the unit's needs.- Define a sustainable management policy for green spaces that favors the environment, changes, and the development of biodiversity.- Ensure internal communication within the unit.Your profile:- Hold a diploma in management, agronomy, or a degree deemed equivalent.- Have a proven experience of at least 5 years in managing large teams and budget management.- Possess knowledge of green spaces, their maintenance, and their management.- Be able to have a real vision and implement innovative approaches.- Demonstrate leadership and excellent interpersonal skills with a developed sense of human contact and ease in communication.- Have a sense of organization and priorities as well as analytical and synthetic capacity.- Master the current regulations at the communal, cantonal, and federal levels related to the management of green spaces.Within the framework of its gender equality policy, the City of Geneva aims to promote diversity in all its services.
