Are you an officer within a SDIS, coming from the forestry sector, with solid experience in crisis management, leadership, or event management? Do you wish to become a key player in fire defense in Vaud within our establishment? Then this position is for you! Assistant Inspector of the Person-in-Charge at 80%-100%. Within an engaged and experienced team, you will contribute to the missions assigned by the Inspector in charge of specifics, relying on your expertise in the firefighting domain as well as your skills in crisis management and leadership. Under the authority of the head of specifics, you will assume the responsibilities delegated to you by the General Directorate of the Environment – Forest Division (DGE-Forest), in connection with the implementation of the cantonal fire prevention strategy. You will act as project leader for specific fire prevention and rescue projects and ensure the quality, coherence, and availability of concepts, doctrines, lessons learned (RETEX), and decision-making aids in this field. You will also ensure the follow-up of the professionals in the management of the DDIS service and participate in the standby duty of the permanent inspectors of the Fire Defense Division. Are you ready to join us? With this stimulating and meaningful role, your daily life will be marked by a diversity of activities. You will alternate between conceptual work, advisory and support missions, as well as tasks related to forest fire management. You will be co-responsible for the development of skills in leading wildfire prevention teams, both among ECA staff and specialized forest personnel acting as advisors. These missions involve standby services as well as hours that may be irregular. What is your profile? Holder of a higher qualification, you have approximately ten years of professional experience, particularly in crisis management and project leadership. A firefighter officer for at least five years, you are also a certified firefighter or adult instructor. Additionally, you have followed further training in the forestry field or have at least completed an apprenticeship in this area. You possess excellent communication and persuasion skills, a logical mind, and a solution-oriented approach. With strong management and project management skills, you have good knowledge of the canton of Vaud and its institutions and are ideally able to express yourself both orally and in writing in German and English (level B1).
